I am rather hesitant to define rules for a group of adults--I would hope that each of you would intuit what is appropriate and what is not. However, I do think that certain information be clearly demarcated as expections. I reserve the right to add to these as circumstances arise. For the moment, these are all that I can come up with:

1) Within the first 2 weeks of a new guildie arriving to the guild, only materials and items will be offered. After two weeks within the guild, one will be allowed to ask for money. This is to prevent scamming and to weed out those who do not intend to stay within the guild.

2) We offer our "services" free of charge to our fellow alliance members. How we treat them reflects how we, ourselves, would like to be treated. This has come up in the past--we will not charge for monking services, for example.

3) I am relatively easygoing, when it comes to behavioral interactions. I expect that adults can resolve personal issues individually before they come to my attention. However, I do expect common courtesy towards fellow guild mates and our alliance mates. Use of insults or name calling will not be tolerated. Any Gnothi member, who is observed behaving without a measure of decorum towards others in my world will be asked or forced to leave.

4) We come into this world to have fun and enjoy each other's perspectives, insights, strengths, and passions. I would like that to constantly be in the background of every interaction. If one is having a bad day, maybe that is not a good day to play in a group. Alone time, whether purposefully expressed or not, is fine. I ask that people think twice about what he or she wants out of the game on a daily basis.

5) I would like the forum to be used as the mainstay of our communication. I expect guildies to at least register with the forum and visit it often. The only difference pertains to officers--I need for officers to be more active on the forum than general members. This proves dedication to the guild and a desire to have it function as smoothly as possible. As such, officers need to be apprised of changes and feel free to offer perspectives/opinions.

6) Month long inactivity will most likely lead to making room for others who will actually contribute to the guild. If an absence is expected, or you realize that you simply haven't played for a while, you can reserve a spot in the guild by filling out an absence notification under "guild issues." This is in part because we tend to care for those in the guild...when someone does go afk for a month or more, I am genuinely worry about that. It also has to do with team morale. Seeing someone just fall off the planet often leaves a gap for the rest of the guild, which may or may not be filled--it all depends on the energies that person brings.
