Falling Star Build

This build is best used in AB or any competitive mission where a res isn't as crucial.

16 Fire Magic
11 Energy Storage (with major rune)
9 Shadow Arts

Death's Charge
Star Burst
Flame Burst
Inferno
Meteor Shower
Fire Attunement
Aura of Restoration
Dark Escape

First rule, if you can help it: do not cap with a team. This build has more than enough firepower to annihilate most defense points with the first volley, though the warrior or rangers may require one or two more shots.

Second, unless really necessary, do not use Meteor Shower on a human player. Save it for defense points to lead your assault.

The attack:
Begin casting meteor shower. When it is about 3/4 done, activate dark escape and queue up death's charge so it casts right after meteor shower.
You will be at your target 2 seconds before the first meteor. Cast starburst followed by flame burst and inferno. Around when flame burst hits your targets, one of the meteors will hit as well, spiking and knocking them down.

Soft targets, like mesmers and necros, will not survive this barrage past the second meteor without assistance.
Self-healing targets like the monk or ele points will need the full volley of meteors plus the other three spells to finish them.
Ranger defense points will need another spell or two, but will drop.
Warrior defense points will be hurting quickly, and activate healing signet. If you have a spell recharged, hit them with it then and try to finish them off.

Nice build...I'll need to try that out when I create a Nightfall ele (gotta love the threads yo).~~Maia

This is similar to a starburst ele build in pvp. You can also play with the build and even add bed of coals.

Sorry, but saying this is like a starburst pvp build is kinda like saying one boon prot build is like another.

As for Bed of Coals, I don't see a spot for it.
Coals is a typical damage/second AoE, which causes the scatter. Scattering npcs while trying to keep them close to you is self-sabotaging.

For some reason, npcs don't get out from under meteor showers, enabling you to spike them in the same spot with the other spells.

As it sits, this is 745 damage to armor 60 targets, over 9 seconds. And that isnt counting any recharged and recast spells in the meantime. Counting Flame Burst's 5 second recharge (meaning recast) it becomes 872 damage. Add in three knockdowns that can stop critical self heals or spells, and that is hard to beat.

As for the utility skills, all of them have proven both useful and necessary.
Dark Escape for survivability if getting attacked or going after damage-based defense points, Death's Charge for getting in position for the spell chain without getting crippled half-way there. Aura of Restoration, if by anything, should be replaced with a better self-heal. Fire Attunement will just save your butt by allowing that one extra spell against that pesky warrior you will always run into who wants to fight you.

One skill that could go in is the Nightfall skill Flame Djinn's Haste. Low cast time and good damage spike as well as the ability to run away faster are both things this build could use. I would probably drop it into flame bursts spot, but that depends on the final 16 fire magic damage output it gets.

Umm I was just commenting it is similar to the Starbust ele build sometimes run in HA...not saying in particularly anything. There is no room for BoC because of your full bar, I was just saying in general if you wanted to tweak the build, say 1 ele has MS and the other bring BoC. I was just casually mentioning it for pvp not npcs. Generally speaking, so whatever.
