just a quick summary.
Anime
Currently watching Gunslinger Girl. Not that far in yet, maybe four episodes. Has promise.
Complete series just finished- Kitty Grade(Sci-Fi, adventure/action). A likeable anime, suited for pre-teens to adults. Probably over looked by some. Puts me in mind of Witch Hunter Robin.
Definite must see: X (all about destiny), Gungrave (gangsters), Hellsing (vampires), Noir (assassins). These all get five stars in my book. The sound tracks are so good too. I still have to get Gungrave’s soundtrack. Great soundtracks to game too.
Old favorites: Vampire Hunter D, Bublegum crisis. Vampire Hunter D started it all for me.

Sandy,
You know, today you have proven yourself . I betcha 10 to 1 that you are a trip to hang out with. Anime LOL--well I'm thinking that more than a few of the men folk will be able to speak up here (Ken.....). I am not much into anime, so I will let this topic go ~~Maia |

My husband has been asked if I have any sisters or cousins. That's good right.
About the hanging out, I'm really boring. Well, I think I am, most times.
Do not dance. Do not go to clubs.
But lots of entertainment in books, video, music and games (board games), pc games, and vedio games.
Plan on going hunting this sat if I get my lisc. The beagel need some exerise not to metion me. |

Ah Anime. My cup of tea.
~I've seen all Tenchi Muyo. Most probably my favorite after Azu.
~I've seen most of Azumanga Daioh. Pure genius, I'm currently collecting them all on DvD.
~Every single Cardcaptor Sakura. Some say it's girly but hell I love it! Absoloutely crap translated into english though because they cut out a nice ?M/M? relationship.
~The first season on Inuyasha. I *ahem* "aquired" the first season and really enjoyed it but I'm afraid that I'll most likely never get to see anyothers. (TT.TT)
~Ofcourse when it coems to films Studio Ghibli is heaven sent in my eyes:
#Howl's Moving Castle.
#Kiki's Delivery Service.
#Spirited Away.
#The valley of the wind.
#Porco Roso.
#My neighbour Toroto.
#Princess Mononoke.
#Lupin III.
#Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
#The Cat returns. |

Some good choices. I have not seen some of those.
Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind is another personal favorite of mine.
I like Netflicks. I can rent them and try anime out and see if they are any good and worth buying. That's how I found gungrave, hellsing and kitty grade (actually saw previews for this one).
I have not seen Tenchi Muyo GT. Not so much into Tenchi, myself but I know others who are.
Hmm wonder if you can get the orginal translations for Cardcaptor sakura.
OMG I can not believe I fogot Neon Genesis Evangelion. Shudder at the thought.
I have spirted away and howl's moving castle on my rental list. Do not know when I will see them. Hopefully soon. |

ROFL i never noticed this topic yet i posted about witch hunter robin in another thread.
My favourite anime of all time is Neon Genesis Evangelion. Nuff said.
I was dissapointed with Witch Hunter Robin actually. But i loved Helsing...amazing anime, sexy to boot! Now theres a anime to make into a movie...oh but hollywood will fuck with up with bullet time and Seras will be played by Linsey Lohan...DAM thats a hot idea! maybe not so bad....
In Australia, anime was SLOW to come....i watched every single bit of anime could get my hands on back in `98. Ninja Scroll scared my parents senseless...Rape? violence? NINJAS? and kick-arse jubei! TY anime! I brought some so many anime tapes it wasnt funny. However i really truely feel anime has lost alot of quality since its introduction to the west. Akira rocked...but the best anime IMO the lifechanging stuff like Akira, Princess Monoke was allready made...now its a dearth of quality. which is abit sad to me, all the typical anime stables, extreme violence, deep storylines and long ponderous looks that can be mistaking for cheap production values are getting overused. Fan service used to be a laugh...now anime girls wear basically nothing....with proportions even a computer programmer must balk at. SIGH. maybe its just me, but its not a fresh as it was 5 or so years ago, when it was literally EXPLODING outta your screen and in your face.
One of my favourite animes...and surprisingly even to me is Jin-Roh: wolves in sheeps clothing. This anime is awesome, i wish they made more serious stuff like this which owns so much of hollywood wholesale. Hollywood screenwriters WISH they could write like this!. and wish only. |

I have not seen all the anime you all mentioned above although I have seen a number of what you had mentioned. My number one recomendation that i didn't see above is Berserk very cool series about friendships and how far one is willing to go for ones dream.
